Purple Heart Display at State Capitol
A display at the Capitol is designed to elicit emotion, and it's working. The Illinois Chapter of the Military Order of the Purple Heart hopes everyone who enters the building will take the time to look at the photos of the Illinois military members who've died in combat. Several passers-by had to grab tissues after reading the names of the more than 200 people who are listed on the wall. They're all members of the military who've died in action since 2000.

Order Commander Dan Finn says the photos really bring reality home for those who see the display. His wife, Christina, who is the president of the IL-MOPH Ladies Auxiliary, says the wall is a blessing for Gold Star Families, who see that their loved ones will never be forgotten.

The display is up through Thursday. For more information about IL-MOPH, CLICK HERE.
