Monmouth College Official to Speak on Twitter
Bryn Lawrence, coordinator of Web services at Monmouth College, will be the featured speaker at the monthly meeting of Monmouth Associates on Thursday, Nov. 19, at noon in the Whiteman-McMillan Highlander Room of the Stockdale Center.

In his talk, "MC's Internet Strategy and the Spread of Web 2.0," Lawrence will focus on the Internet tool Twitter, discussing why it's used, the impact it's having and how new Web companies such as Twitter operate. He will also cover other social networking technologies and how Monmouth College is using them.

"Don't worry if you can't even program your VCR," said Lawrence. "This talk is meant for people of all technical backgrounds."

The program is also free; a buffet lunch costs $9. Reservations can be made by calling 309-457-2316 by Nov. 16, by e-mail at mcarwile@monm.edu, or online by CLICKING HERE.

A free shuttle van transports passengers from two locations to every Associates luncheon. The van will stop at the Faith United Presbyterian Church parking lot at 11:45 a.m. and at the northeast quadrant of the Public Square at approximately 11:50 a.m. It will return to both locations immediately following the program. Shuttle reservations should be made by calling the above number.
