Charges Filed for SUV Rollover Accident
A Galesburg man faces numerous charges after rolling his vehicle into a parked car earlier this week.

Galesburg Police reports indicate 36-year old Andre Meekins was traveling westbound on West Tompkins Street Wednesday afternoon, when he lost control of his SUV, struck a curb and some hedges before striking and rolling over an unoccupied parked car in a driveway at 554 West Tompkins.

Upon the arrival of authorities, they allegedly saw Meekins walking from the accident scene. Officers approached and questioned Meekins and noticed his eyes were blood-shot. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment before he was transported to the Knox County jail.

Meekins is scheduled for a court appearance on December 23rd, where he faces a number of charges that include leaving the scene of an accident with damage, no valid license, no insurance, and driving under the influence. He also faces DUI violations with no license and another DUI violation with no insurance.
