New Candidate for Illinosi Treasurer
One of the Democrats running for state treasurer thinks his background as a forensic accountant will help win votes. Mark Doyle of Chicago says he could find and track stimulus funds deposited in Illinois banks, and find out whether the money really helped the economy. He also says he could help the comptroller collect $5 billion owed to state government by other entities.

Doyle owns Rmetrics, a forensic accounting and financial management firm. One of his duties there is to pursue a deposed dictator of Liberia and try to locate billions in stolen assets.

Doyle also spent five years at deputy director of personnel to then-President Bill Clinton. Doyle says one of his accomplishments during his time in Washington was setting up the Office of Priority Placement, which helped campaign workers find top White House jobs.

Doyle is one of three Democrats running for treasurer. The other two are Robin Kelley and Justin Oberman. State Sen. Dan Rutherford (R-Chenoa) is the only Republican. The Green Party's Scott Summers are also running.
