Monmouth Woman Dies in Car Accident
FIRST REPORTED 12:00pm 11/9/10 A Monmouth woman is dead following a roll over accident on Highway 34 Monday night.

53 year old Vicki Goddard was ejected from her vehicle after the car rolled over about a quarter mile south the Fremont Street overpass just before 11 p.m.

According to police reports, witnesses said a red jeep passed them in the eastbound lane at a high rate of speed. The vehicle began swerving and crossed the median into the westbound lanes. It then crossed back over to the eastbound lanes, where it flipped over two to four times before coming to a stop on the driver's side near the highway.

Galesburg police responded to the accident and found Goddard about 10 feet from the vehicle in a ditch. Goddard was partially dressed.

Goddard's husband was contacted and according to police reports he told police she had been acting strangely that evening. Goddard told police his wife had been repeatedly counting things and left for work at a Galesburg hospital a half hour late.

He said she usually changes clothes at work. Vicki Goddard was pronounced dead at the scene. An investigation continues.
