Crime Stoppers Help Search for WIU Bomb Threat Caller; New Threat Made
Officials at Western Illinois University are searching for anyone that might be responsible for a rash of bomb threats called into university housing.

In the past week, three bomb threats have been called into two residence halls on the Macomb campus, causing evacuations and multiple hours of searching.

A fourth bomb threat was allegedly made Wednesday night according to officials -- this one in the form of a note found in Higgins Hall that was quickly determined to be unfounded.

Another bomb threat was called into Tanner Hall October 25th, but an arrest was quickly made in that case.

Western is offering a reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest.

The $2,500 reward comes from the "Stop the Threat Foundation," which was created last year after unfounded threats were made.

Now the Macomb-area Crime Stoppers is lending their help.

Anyone with information about the threats could call (309) 836-3222 or 1-800-222-TIPS. A person could also leave at anonymous tip online at www.macombareacrimestoppers.com.

They are also offering a reward of $1,000.

Western believes it is likely one person is behind the telephoned threats.

The university's Office of Public Safety and the F.B.I. are continuing their investigations.
