Report Focuses on Equality for Illinois Disabled
CHICAGO (AP) -- A report says Illinois lags behind many other states in employment, community living and education for people with disabilities.

The Chicago Community Trust and the Advisory Board of the Persons with Disabilities Fund are releasing the report Friday in Chicago.

The report says Illinois is behind other states for housing adults with developmental disabilities in small community settings. Instead, most live in large institutions.

The report also says Illinois students with disabilities are significantly underachieving in reading, math and science.

The report makes recommendations for expanding the inclusion of people with disabilities in Illinois communities.
