More Galesburg Budget Discussion Monday Night
After two days of meetings and interviews with potential candidates for Galesburg City Manager, aldermen will be back at work Monday night with a lengthy City Council meeting agenda.

Aldermen Monday evening are scheduled to hold a work session on the 2011 Budget -- this one, city officials say, is more of a question and answer session. That will be followed by a public hearing on the budget.

The City Council in their regular meeting is scheduled to take up water and garbage rates for 2011 as well. Both are expected to increase in the next year.

Aldermen are also scheduled to deal with a newly-renegotiated contract with the golf pro at Bunker Links Golf Course, along with a final vote on the proposal banning private carts on the course.

The City Council also will discuss a revolving loan for an as-yet unidentified business that wants to open up in part of the former Eagle Grocery Store on North Henderson Street.

The budget work session is at 5pm Monday, followed by the budget hearing at 6, and the regular meeting at 6:30, all at City Hall.
