Man Pleads Guilty to Pizza Robbery
A Galesburg man is going to prison for allegedly threatening a pizza delivery man earlier this year.

Knox County State's Attorney John Pepmeyer says as part of a plea deal, 19 year old London Golden pleaded guilty to a Class Two Felony Robbery Charge in court yesterday, and was sentenced to six and a half years in prison.

Police say Golden was arrested in June, as the delivery person was in the 100 block of North Pleasant Street.

The employee says he couldn't find the address in question, so he called the person who made the order, who told him the pizza really needed to go to a location in the 100 block of South Pleasant Street.

The delivery man then found the home, and authorities say that's when Golden approached the man with a handgun who demanded the pizza and the delivery man's money.

Pepmeyer says in a press release says he hopes the plea deal with Golden sends a message to would be criminals that, quote, "robbers and thieves are not welcome in Knox County."
