Decade in Prison for Alleged Thief
A Monmouth man already serving time in prison after being found to be in violation of his probation is getting additional time to serve.

Knox County Court records indicate 25 year old Edgar Cameron was sentenced yesterday to three years in prison on a felony charge of theft, and a consecutive seven year prison term on a felony charge of possession of firearms ammunition by a felon.

Cameron was originally arrested locally, according to Knox County Assistant State's Attorney Erick Gibson, back in late May, after he allegedly broke into a car in the Galesburg Farm King parking lot May 20th where it turned out a purse was stolen.

Gibson says when police went to arrest him ten days later, he was found to be in possession of ammunition.

Illinois Department of Corrections Records indicate Cameron was put back in prison not long after those arrests, after he was found to be in violation of his probation on an Armed Robbery conviction in Cook County.

He's serving a seven-year prison sentence on that charge.
