Reward Offered for Armed Robberies
Galesburg has seen an increase in armed robberies this year compared to last.

According to the Galesburg police department 18 armed robberies have occurred this year,
with only a handful solved.

Now Crime Stoppers is stepping up its efforts to get information regarding the incidents.
$1,000 rewards are being offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest.

Investigator Robert Schwartz with the department, says typically $1,000 rewards are offered, but the full amount is not always awarded to a person, depending on the crime that was committed.

He says now, however, if someone provides enough information that leads to one or more arrests in any of the armed robbery cases, they will receive the full $1,000.

Most recently, Thursday of this week, Discount Liquors on Henderson Street was robbed at gun point allegedly by four black males.

If you have any information, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-888-266-0044 or 309-344-0044.
You can also contact Schwartz directly at 309-345-3745.
