Knoxville Steering Committee Looking for Volunteers
The Knoxville Steering committee met Tuesday night to discuss recruitment and goals.

The committee was formed after a community survey was distributed and tabulated this summer. Now the committee has developed sub-groups to work on different aspect of the survey results.

Carrie McKillip is with the University of Illinois Extension office that tabulated the results. She says city council participation on the teams would be a big asset.

"And the whole reason to do that to is in case the city council has questions. If you have an alderman sitting there listening to the discussion, they'll be better able to answer the questions as to what the thought process was. Because otherwise people will develop things and they won't know, you know, ans so it's more of a communication conduit. Plus, these are people that took the time to run for public office."

First ward Alderman Jim Eastwood is on the steering committee and suggested Mayor Terry Pool might be able to appoint city council members to serve on the sub committees.

A few alderman have volunteered to serve on some committees.
