IL Turkey Testicle Festival Draws Thousands
HUNTLEY, Ill. (AP) -- Thousands of people turned out for a northern Illinois food festival that celebrates a rather delicate turkey delicacy.

The 28th annual Turkey Testicle Festival in Huntley typically draws about 4,000 people from all over the country.

Organizers say they served up more than 1,000 pounds of turkey testicles Wednesday.
Jeff Lovell is owner of the Parkside Pub, which sponsors the event.

He says the turkey testicles' taste is unique and that most people compare them to chicken or mushrooms.

They're served breaded and deep fried with lots of Tabasco sauce.
Lovell bought a half-ton of the delicacy from a supplier in Michigan this year.

Some say the event has become an unofficial town reunion. In addition to the food and drinks, there's live music and T-shirts for sale.
