New Sheriff in Henry and Henderson Counties, Incumbent Wins in Warren County
Republicans were the clear winner in county sheriff's races Tuesday night.

In Henry County Jim Padilla defeated Democrat Tim Wise with little trouble and received 60 percent of the vote to Wise's 40.

The two ran in an open race after current Sheriff Gib Cady announced he would not seek re-election.

In other Sheriff's races, Warren County Republican Sheriff Martin Edwards defeated his opponent Mike Sage by more than 1,500 votes.

In Henderson County three men, Republican Todd Miller, Democrat Steve Haynes, and Independent Steve Henshaw, were all vying for an open seat.

Current Sheriff Mark Lumbeck also decided not to run for re-election. Haynes handily overcame his opponents by more than a thousand votes.

There had been speculation, the Democratic vote could be split between Haynes and Henshaw, giving Todd Miller the opportunity to advance, but Henshaw received just 11 percent of votes to Haynes' 59 percent and Miller's 30.

In Knox County, Democrat Sheriff David Clague ran unopposed.

Another notable race, Republican Jodi Scott defeated Bob Pritchett for Warren-Henderson- and-Mercer counties Regional Office of Education by 3,000 votes.
