Motion Could Seek to Overturn Rezko Convictions
CHICAGO (AP) -- A one-time fundraiser of impeached Gov. Rod Blagojevich plans to file a motion related to the honest services laws that partly underpinned his 2008 conviction.

A defense attorney for Tony Rezko told a federal judge during a status hearing in Chicago on Thursday that the decision to file the motion comes after higher court rulings curtailing such laws.

Attorney Joe Duffy mentioned a recent appellate court's decision that overturned some of former media mogul Conrad Black's fraud convictions because they stemmed from honest services provisions.

After the hearing, Duffy declined to discuss details of the planned motion.
