Moffitt Reflects on Election Cycle
Television and radio stations aired a lot of what arguably would be negative campaign ads this election cycle, and while many of them were by Republican groups, one local Republican says he doesn't like them one bit.

State Representative Don Moffitt, who soundly won re-election Tuesday night, says he doesn't like negative campaigning of any type.

The Gilson Republican tells WGIL's "Galesburg Live" that sort of time and effort could be much better used.

"So much of the effort is really to discredit the opponent," Moffitt said. "I'd rather candidates just tell what they want to do, what the stand for, what they see as their priorities. I think, when we see some third party objective monitoring -- rating -- of this, it will go down as one of the more negative [campaigns]."

Moffitt says he's anxiously awaiting the results of the too-close-to-call Governor's race. He says he believes if Bill Brady ends up the winner, efforts at bi-partisanship will be a little improved.
