Another Bomb Threat on WIU Campus
ORIGINALLY POSTED 1:55pm, UPDATED 3:59pm 11/4/10 Western Illinois University officials are offering a reward to anyone with information leading to an arrest in Thursday's bomb threat.

For the second time in as many weeks, a bomb threat was called in this afternoon to Tanner Hall, the same building that was evacuated just over a week ago for the same reason.

Officials with the state bomb squad and Adam's County Sheriff's Department assisted in a search of the building.

President Al Goldfarb says they do not believe the threat is serious but will not be taking any chances.

A reward of $2,500 has been offered from the school's Stop the Threat Fund, which was created in 2009 in response to two unfounded threat, to anyone with information leading to an arrest.

Goldfarb says the offender in the incident will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

An 18 year old Chicago man, Cameron McKoy, was arrested last week for allegedly transmitting a threat of destruction to a school in that incident. He has been suspended and faces possible expulsion.

University officials say classes will be held as scheduled tonight.

Tanner Hall is a 13 story residence hall housing a little less than 800 freshman students.
