Toulon Mayor Convicted of Disorderly Conduct
TOULON, Ill. (AP) -- The mayor of the southern Illinois community of Toulon has been convicted of disorderly conduct in connection with a confrontation with a city employee three months ago.

Mayor Richard Collins was accused of throwing a steel mower part at the employee. He was found guilty Friday of the misdemeanor in a stipulated finding after changes were made in the wording of the charge.

The Journal Star of Peoria reports the changes eliminated wording that Collins threw the deck pin, replacing it with the allegation he ``flipped or tossed'' the pin in an underhand manner, like someone tossing car keys. Special prosecutor Michael Vujovich emphasized Friday the original charge remained the same.

Collins was sentenced to 60 days of court supervision and ordered to pay $335 in fines and court costs.

The charge will be dismissed if Collins complies with all terms.
