Blagojevich Trial Witness Arrested for Shoplifting
CHICAGO (AP) -- Bond has been set at $10,000 for a former Illinois official who testified at ousted Governor Rod Blagojevich's corruption trial and who was arrested for shoplifting this week.

WBBM-AM reports that 58 year old Rajinder Bedi appeared in bond court Saturday. Chicago police say store security at a Home Depot saw Bedi take items without paying Friday.

He's charged with felony retail theft for allegedly stealing items worth more than $150.

Calls to published listings for Rajinder Bedi in Chicago rang unanswered Saturday.
Bedi was the state's international trade director until last year.

He testified at Blagojevich's trial that U.S. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. was present at a meeting when Bedi and a businessman discussed fundraising for Blagojevich and Jackson's desire for President Barack Obama's old Senate seat.
