City Council Talks Budget One More Time Tonight
One of the final meetings the Galesburg City Council will have solely dealing with the city's budget is scheduled for Monday evening.

Aldermen will hold a special council work session Monday to not only discuss the city's capital projects, but also hold a general Q-and-A about the 89-million dollar overall spending plan.

The council was to discuss capital projects two weeks ago, but the meeting ended up being dominated by talks of the city's funding of outside agencies.

Among the capital projects, the city has been asked to partner with the Galesburg School District on city-wide wi-fi internet access, part of the district's Master Facilities Plan.

The city also wants to discuss the three rail crossing grade separation projects, street resurfacing as usual, and other things.

The meeting is at 5:30 at council chambers in Galesburg City Hall.

Also, the Knox County Board will vote on its Fiscal Year 2012 spending plan Monday night at six o'clock in the Knox County Courthouse. The County's fiscal year starts Thursday, while the city's starts with the new year.
