Superintendent Reacts to Deaths of Three Students in Car Crash
Classes will resume for Stark County High School students Thursday after cancelations Wednesday in the wake of Tuesday's fatal accident involving three students.

Henry County Coroner David Johnson pronounced 16 year old Levi Berg and 18 year old Bradley Wood dead at the scene southeast of Kewanee Tuesday. 15 year old Kelsey Clifford died at Kewanee Hospital.

Superintendent Jerry Klooster tells WGIL the deaths are affecting different people in different ways.

"I had met with teachers today who were profoundly saddened and in tears," Klooster said. "We have students coming in to meet with counselors today who are upset and anxious about returning to school and how things will transpire when school starts again."

Klooster says an appropriate response to remember the victims will be planned. High school students are being asked to go straight to the gym upon their arrival Thursday morning.

19 year old Morgan Blakey, who was driving the vehicle, and 16 year old Theodore Fritch are still hospitalized at a Peoria hospital. Their conditions are unknown at this time.

Henry County Sheriffs confirm all five subjects were in a Dodge four door passenger car that lost control on 2700 Street after 4pm Tuesday outside of Kewanee.

Funeral arrangements are pending for the deceased, and a coroner's inquest will be scheduled at a later date.
