Rescue Mission Share-a-Thon A Success
Saturday was the Harvest Time Rescue Mission Share-a-Thon and this year was a big success.

The Rescue Mission came in with a goal of 45-thousand dollars, but ended up walking away with more than 47-thousand dollars.

The mission's goal is to provide food, clothing, shelter and counseling, all free of charge, to needy men, women and their children

Share-a-thon host Rick Welty tells WGIL that it's great having the support.

"The people in Galesburg and surrounding area gives to the Rescue Mission unfailingly," says Welty. "This is really a blessing and we're blessed in this community to have the Rescue Mission and the great support."

There were 473 contributors from Galesburg and the surrounding community. The Mission was able to raise almost 12 percent of it's budget during this year's Share-a-Thon.
