Library Moves Closer to Design of New Library
The Galesburg Public Library Board has whittled down nine architect submission to four semi-finalists.

At last nights library meeting the board discussed the nine different submissions and put it a vote on what four would be considered further.

Finance Committee Director Mike Kroll tells WGIL when the board vote most of them had the same top four picks for what semi-finalists should be, making the boards job a little easier considering all nine applicants were highly qualified.

"There was an amazing amount of consensus among library board members," says Kroll. "We had eight of the nine board members who participated, five of those eight came up with the same top four."

Kroll says for the most part the whole board had the same thoughts and it was an amazing consensus among members.

He says the next step will be for board members to go on "field trips" to one or more library locations designed by each semi-finalist to see what their work looks like off paper and to interview the candidates.
