United Way Crosses 50 Yard Line
The Knox County United Way crossed the half-way mark this week for the year's fundraising goals.

The non-profit organization has a goal of $375,000 - which is 15,000 more than last year.

Executive Director of the United Way Ann Tucker tells WGIL that they crossed the 60 percent mark Friday.

"I had a phone call from Burlington Northern Santa Fe regarding our corporate gift. We received $30,000 so that actually has bumped us up today to almost 60 percent."

The United Way has changed their sign near the public safety building in Galesburg.

Tucker said that ideally the United Way will have reached their goal by December 31st, but some of the drives go into January.

She also tells WGIL they have been giving a lot of presentations as of late to help them reach their goal.
