Closing Arguments Set in Sheley Murder Trial
MORRISON, Ill. (AP)--Closing arguments are set in the second trial of a 33 year old man accused of killing eight people in Illinois and Missouri in 2008.

The Sterling Daily Gazette reports attorneys will present their closing arguments Tuesday in Nicholas Sheley's Whiteside County murder trial. Sheley has pleaded not guilty in the death of 93-year-old Russell Reed of Sterling. He already has been sentenced to life in prison for the bludgeoning death of a Galesburg man and faces trials in six other deaths.

Testimony in the trial ended Monday when Sheley told the judge he wouldn't testify and Sheley's defense attorney chose not to call any witnesses. Prosecutors rested their case Monday after six days of testimony.
