New High School Get's A Little Tweek
The Knoxville school board continues to move forward with the design of the new high school.

The board got a quick update from BLDD Architects about changes made to the design requested by the board at the last meeting.

Superintendent Steven Wilder tells WGIL no major changes were made to the design just some mechanical changes and at this point the board and architects are getting down to the netty gritty details of the final design.

"We talked about the location of some of the mechanical areas, like the elevator. Location of some data closets and data hubs so nothing really major just fine tuning the design at this point."

Wilder says the board talked about little things like where the concessions stand would go in the common area.

He says the board did agree on the type of material the exterior of the building would look like.

Wilder says the exterior brick will be a traditional red brick with a mix of lighter color stones to give it what he calls a quote "classic" look.

Later this month the BLDD will return with their 50 percent construction document and those will be the documents that go out to bid.

Wilder says this should put them on track to have the design fully completed by late December, early January.
