OSF Could Add New Hospital to System
Kewanee Hospital announced they've signed a letter of intent to join OSF HealthCare in a press release sent out Tuesday.

The hospital has worked with OSF in the past and both share a similar mission statement.

In the press release Chair of the Kewanee Hospital Board of Trustees Gary Pheiffer says the possible affiliation with OSF is great news for the communities Kewanee Hospital caters to because quote "it will ensure local access to quality health care for many years to come."

This partnership will also allow Kewanee Hospital to recruit new doctors, advance practice nurses, and other medical professionals.

OSF Healthcare System CEO Kevin Schoeplein says the rational behind the potential affiliation is a shared mission of health care service between the two parties.

A final decision to move forward with the affiliation will not come until later next year.

Until then both parties will spend the next few months learning more about each other.
