Library Board Goes Through Construction Managers
The Galesburg Library board has started the process of picking a construction manager for the planned new library.

Leading up to this, the board has been narrowing down a list of architects to design the building.

The board will be travelling to observe the libraries and interview the architectural firms they've chosen starting next Friday.

With yesterday's meeting, the board had just opened the boxes from the construction companies.

There were seven companies in total, with three from Davenport, one from Morton, and two from Peoria.

The library board said they wanted a construction manager that wasn't affiliated with the architectural firm so that the library's best interests can be represented.

Finance Committee Director Mike Kroll said picking a construction manager will be a more tedious process because there isn't as much information.
