Honoring Those Who Served Their Country
The rain couldn't keep people away from supporting Veterans past and present at the Veterans Day Parade.

People came out with umbrellas, ponchos and of course bags to collect candy.

Derdra Mannon with the Knox County Girl Scouts came out with the troops to show their support for the Veterans.

Mannon tells WGIL a lot of the girls have a Veteran in their family and the same values the Girl Scouts believe in help make up a Vet.

"Girl Scouts are building courage, confidence and character and those are the three words that sum up our Veterans. You know, having the courage to d what they need to do, the character to accomplish the task. Courage, confidence and character that isn't a Veteran it's a Girl Scout too so that's what we teach em."

The Scouts were suppose to march in the parade but at the last minute were told to head home because of the weather.

That wont not stop Mannon from doing a Veterans day project with the girls and discussing why Veterans days is so important.

This years Grand Marshall were the Veterans of Koran War.

They were bused down the parade route to the court house where the parade ended.
