Blago Attorney Comes out Swinging at Impeachment Hearing
An Illinois House hearing over whether Gov. Rod Blagojevich should be impeached had all the trappings of a boxing match, and Blagojevich's attorney didn't pull any punches.

Lawyer Ed Genson entered the ornate Statehouse hearing room Wednedsday with the use of a cane, but he sat steady as he complained that some members of the bipartisan panel should be recused. He claimed their previous statements show they couldn't decide the matter fairly.

But the panel's chairwoman weathered Genson's beefs and fired back. State Rep. Barbara Flynn Currie (D-Chicago) says she's satisfied the members can decide the impeachment matter objectively.

Afterward, she said she expected the tone Wednesday to be combative. And with a smile, she says she's all eyes and ears from here on out.
