Best Western Prairie Inn Sold
One of the first buildings people coming into Galesburg see when they come in from Interstate 74 is changing, but it won't look different.

Galesburg Attorney Barry Barash contacted WGIL Wednesday evening and says he sold Best Western Prairie Inn hotel to Pete Patel earlier that day. Patel reportedly owns the Super 8 motel outside Knoxville, not far from the Prairie Inn.

Barash provided no other details about the sale, directing all inquiries to Patel, except to say that the hotel will remain a Best Western. Our attempts to contact Patel have, so far, been unsuccessful, but when we have more details we will let you know.

Barash purchased the Best Western Prairie Inn, then known as Jumer's Continental Inn, in late-2001, as part of a Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceeding that eventually to the dissolution of the entire Jumer's hotel chain.
