Genson Accuses Lawmakers of "Witchhunt"
You don't often hear the words "fun" and "witchhunt" used to describe the same governmental proceedings, but the attorney for Governor Rod Blagojevich used them both during his first day representing the governor before the House impeachment committee.

Asked why Genson took the case, he said one of the advantages of working for a small law firm is that he can take the "fun," and interesting cases. But he's not at all happy with how the impeachment process has begun. He calls the impeachment inquiry a "witchhunt," and asks if anyone knows of another case in Illinois where so many people want one person's head.

Genson says the House impeachment committee isn't even looking at real evidence when it comes to the federal corruption charges against Blagojevich. He says the committee members are only seeing a transcript of an alleged wiretapped conversation of people jabbering. As to whether the governor will testify in his defense, Genson says maybe, or maybe not.
