Israeli Diplomat in Illinois Wants to Tell Real Story About Her Country
Israel's "woman in Chicago" hopes her home country gets some tourism money out of a campaign called "The Real Israel." Consul general Orli Gil, the nation's representative to 11 Midwestern states, says part of her job is to promote her country as a travel destination which may not be on your radar.

Gil says Israel is a beautiful, cultural place, with great chefs. She says it's a leader in publishing books and in the number of people attending cultural events. Billboards around the U.S. promote "The Real Israel" as being different from the Israel you see on the news.
