Three Arrested for Alleged Mobile Meth Lab
POSTED 2:29pm 12/11/09 Knox County Sheriff David Clague says three people are in custody after investigators tracked a suspected methamphetamine lab from Abingdon to Knoxville.

Clague says Knox County Deputies and Peoria Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Group agents made the arrests Thursday night. He says deputies and agents were conducting surveillance on a suspected mobile methamphetamine lab in Abingdon, when deputies followed the suspected vehicle to Galesburg, where it was later learned that lithium batteries and Coleman fuel were purchased -- both key meth-making ingredients.

Clague says the vehicle was later stopped by a Knoxville police officer, where a search is believed to have turned up meth, a .45-caliber handgun, pseudoephedrine, and other meth-related materials.

Clague says 41-year old Keith Mathers of Abingdon, 42-year old Elbert Hess of Abingdon, and 19-year old Esperidion Solano Pergis who had no known address, were all arrested.

Each faces preliminary charges of Possession of a Firearm, Aggravated Participation in Meth Production, Possession of a Meth Precursor, Possession of Meth-Manufacturing Materials, and Conspiring to Make Meth.

The three are being held in the Knox County Jail pending court appearances. Clague says an investigation continues.
