Prosecutors Want DNA Testing in Beason Killings
LINCOLN, Ill. (AP) -- Prosecutors handling the case of two brothers accused of killing five members of a central Illinois family are asking for DNA testing on more than 25 pieces of evidence.

The prosecutors have filed motions asking for testing on the items, which include a tube of antibiotic ointment, shoes and a tire iron. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday.

Authorities contend Christopher and Jason Harris killed Ruth and Rick Gee and three of the Gees' children. The family was found dead inside their Beason home on Sept. 21; 4-year-old Tabitha Gee was the sole survivor.

The Harris brothers each face multiple charges, including first-degree murder, residential burglary and home invasion. Both have pleaded not guilty.
