Quinn Hosting Holiday Open House - Everyone's Invited
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Governor Pat Quinn is having a party and you're invited.

Quinn is hosting a holiday open house Saturday at the Executive Mansion in Springfield.

The event is free. It runs from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Quinn likes to throw open the doors of the historic governor's mansion.

At Halloween, he invited trick-or-treaters to stop by to pick up some candy.

At Easter, he welcomed dozens of developmentally disabled children and their families to the mansion for an Easter egg hunt.

Quinn inherited the governor's job in January after former Governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested and removed from office by lawmakers.

Quinn is vying for a full term of his own in next year's election. He faces Illinois Comptroller Dan Hynes in the February 2nd Democratic primary.
