Orpheum Theatre Gets Another Film Shoot
It's been a pretty good year for productions at Galesburg's Orpheum Theatre -- and not just the ones that the theatre or community organizations sell tickets for.

Orpheum president Kate Francis says following a year that saw a comedy show and a public television show get filmed in the theatre, another film crew will soon be using the Orpheum for a production.

Francis tells WGIL it will be another documentary being filmed -- this time, about someone with a bit of a Galesburg connection.

"We have been chosen to be another film location for a Lincoln documentary," Francis said. "It's another television production crew out of Chicago. They'll be in the theatre for approximately two days, 12 hours a day, and we'll be assassinating Lincoln yet again at the Orpheum Theatre, as we did in 'Our American Cousin'."

Francis says the film crew will be in the Orpheum the week of January 11th -- no word on when their work might air.

Francis says the documentary about Carl Sandburg filmed a few months ago at the Orpheum is slated to air sometime in the fall.

She says the comedy show Bob Zany did on Halloween has yet to find an air date, and says she's heard that Zany is close to having the cable network it will air on confirmed. Francis wouldn't say which one it was, but that it would be "a major cable network."
