Initiated were: Laurel Buckley of Sublette; James Fry of Monmouth; Cassandra Hart of Cuba; Joseph Hoffman of Overland Park, Kansas; Derek Keist of Chenoa; Melissa Lindsay of Spokane, Wash.; Amanda White of Roscoe; and Erin Woods of Galesburg.

"Monmouth College proudly owns one of the oldest charters in Lambda Pi Eta," said faculty adviser Lee McGaan. "We are Kappa Chapter -- the 10th chapter in the nation."

To become a member of Lambda Pi Eta, students must have: completed at least 60 semester hours in college; completed at least 12 semester hours of communication study; a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0; and a communication studies GPA of at least 3.25. They must also be in the upper 35 percent of their graduating class and be currently enrolled as students in good standing.
