State Reports 4 New H1N1 Deaths
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois health officials are reporting four new deaths and 77 new hospitalizations from H1N1 flu.

Thursday's update brings the total number of Illinois deaths from the virus to 83. More than 2,600 Illinoisans have been hospitalized since the start of the global epidemic last spring.

The Illinois Department of Public Health updates its H1N1 flu figures each week. The state's H1N1 flu activity peaked in the fall, but officials are worried about a new wave of illnesses in the new year.

H1N1 flu vaccine is available at public health departments, retail pharmacies and doctor's offices. More than 3.2 million doses have been shipped to Illinois.

A study in Thursday's New England Journal of Medicine finds that if someone in your home has H1N1 flu, your odds of catching it are about one in eight.
