Local Farm Bureau to Have Good Presence at State Meeting
A meeting of Farm Bureau members from around the state is set to begin in a few days, and the outgoing manager of the Knox County Farm Bureau says the local agency should have a good presence.

Kristi Lange steps down as manager December 10th, but before then, she and incoming manager Kelly Wagahoff are working together to plan how they'll be represented at the Illinois Farm Bureau annual meeting in Chicago.

Lange tells WGIL a good contingent of Farm Bureau members should be in attendance this weekend. "We've got a great delegate session body going, as well as some young leaders that will be competing in different events, and then great other attendees that will be joining us as well," Lange said. "We're really excited for that."

Lange tells WGIL two of those Young Leaders will be kept plenty busy. "Grant Strum, and Corinne Smith -- they will both be competing in the Discussion Meet contest," Lange said. "They had a contest earlier this year in August, and competed with everyone from the District 8 area." Lange says the two will compete against other finalists from the rest of the state.

She says another Young Leader will be taking part in an achievement award finalist, one of only four in the state.

The Illinois Farm Bureau Annual Meeting starts Saturday in Chicago and runs through Tuesday.
