Judge Restricts Allowable Evidence in Murder Trial
DIXON, Ill. (AP) -- A Lee County judge has ruled that the jury in an upcoming murder trial can hear testimony that the defendant had sex with the slain man's female roommate the night of the killing.

But Circuit Court Judge Ron Jacobson also ruled this week that prosecutors cannot present evidence that the sex occurred next to the corpse.

Twenty-eight-year-old Eric Lemons, of Ashton, is charged with three counts of first-degree murder in the death of Todd Harn, also 28. Prosecutors say Harn was hit in the head with a rock April 5 in the Ashton apartment Harn shared with 22-year-old Kaylyn Gideon.

Gideon is charged with obstructing justice for giving Lemons cleaning supplies to clean up the scene of the murder. Her attorney said Wednesday that Gideon will request a bench trial.
