Quinn Picks up Endorsement from Chicago Leaders
CHICAGO (AP) -- A group of city and state politicians on Chicago's West Side has endorsed Gov. Pat Quinn for the Feb. 2 primary.

The leaders include several Chicago aldermen and Congressman Danny Davis, who says Quinn is a man of the people.

Several cited Quinn's work to found the Citizens Utility Board, which is a consumer advocacy group.

Quinn grew up on Chicago's West Side, and he says he's honored to get the endorsement.

Quinn's endorsement on Monday comes on the same day that his challenger Dan Hynes garnered support from the Illinois Federation of Teachers.

Officials from the 103,000-member union say they made the endorsement after reviewing candidate questionnaires and interviewing the candidates.
