Plea Made in Felony Drug Case
One of two Galesburg men arrested a couple months ago on felony drug charges following what originally was a simple traffic stop is headed to prison.

Knox County Courthouse records indicate 27-year old Daylan Ellington pleaded guilty last week to a Class-Four felony charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. Original charges including a Class-X felony of possession of cocaine were dropped in exchange for the plea.

Ellington and 28-year old Daniel Ellington were both arrested in early August after Galesburg Police stopped their car in the 600 block of East Main Street.

Police say a search allegedly turned of various bags of cannabis, along with a substance believed to be crack cocaine.

Daylan Ellington was sentenced to five years in prison with credit for 118 days served in the Knox County Jail.

Daniel Ellington is scheduled for a pre-trial conference Monday in the case, and faces the same original charges as the younger Ellington.
