Man Accused in Police Chase Pleads Guilty
A Galesburg man will be spending several years in prison for his role in a police chase through two counties that was related to an illegal drug.

37-year old David Fowler pleaded guilty last week in Knox County Circuit Court to a single Class-Two Felony charge of Possession of Methamphetamine-Manufacturing Chemicals.

In exchange for the guilty plea, a host of charges including more-serious Class-X felony counts of Participation in Meth Production, and possession of meth, and other charges including Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding were dismissed, but he was still sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Fowler was one of three people arrested in late-August, after leading what turned out to be Knox and Warren County Sheriffs Deputies, along with an Abingdon Police squad car, on a chase that started near Saint Joe Road and Knox Road 100 East after items allegedly used in meth making were discarded, and ended not long after he fled on foot when his car crashed in a corn field outside Berwick.

The other two men arrested in the case, 18-year old Timothy Olson of Knoxville and 22-year old Steven Charles, are both scheduled for pre-trial hearings Monday in the case.
