Constiutional Officer's Inauguration January 10th
(IRN)-Inauguration Day is one month away.

Governor Pat Quinn and five other statewide officials will be sworn in on Jan. 10, to be followed by a reception at the governor's mansion.

Quinn says in these tough economic times, the festivities will be frugal, "but it won't be chintzy, I don't believe in that," he said. "I believe in doing something in a meaningful way that's thrifty and connects to the people."

Private funds are being raised for the events now, with the budget depending on how much money is raised. The inauguration is not considered a political event, so the donors do not have to be disclosed, but Quinn says the inauguration committee will disclose them, and will take no more than $50,000 from any one source.

Quinn's first inauguration as governor, in 2009, was a rush job in the dark of night: He took the oath of office at the Capitol immediately after the Illinois Senate threw predecessor Rod Blagojevich out of office. He had previously been sworn in as lieutenant governor twice, and once as state treasurer.

Also being sworn in on Inauguration Day will be Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon, Attorney General Lisa Madigan (for the third time), Secretary of State Jesse White (for the fourth time), Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka (who was inaugurated three times as state treasurer) and Treasurer Dan Rutherford.
