Man Gets Prison Time in Serious Accident
A Galesburg man accused of committing a vehicle crash last year that sent another man to the hospital is headed to prison for the crime.

The Knox County State's Attorney says 64 year old Roger Roy was sentenced to three-years in prison yesterday on a charge of Failure to Report an accident, and a concurrent one year on a charge of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence.

Roy, authorities say, allegedly hit a motorcycle operated by Donald Boland with his vehicle in early June of 2009. causing Boland to be taken to a Peoria hospital with injuries to his hip, leg, ankle, and forearm.

Judge James Stewart reportedly called the incident road rage. Roy was convicted of the charges in a bench trial in September.

Court records indicate Roy must pay over 20-thousand dollars in fines related to the case.
