Pekin Man Allegedly Tossed Dead Squirrel
BARTONVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- A Pekin man is facing misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges for allegedly tossing a dead squirrel into the drive-through window of a fast food restaurant in Bartonville.

Bartonville police say it took them several days to track down the accused squirrel-tosser, 26-year-old Christopher Thompson.

Officers say Thompson told them a friend left the squirrel on his dashboard, but instead of getting rid of it, he kept it until he pulled into the drive-through lane at a Hardee's restaurant.

The (Peoria) Journal Star says the woman attendant told police Thompson asked for "extra nuts" for the squirrel, and began petting it as if it were still alive. She says when she said she didn't think the squirrel was real, Thompson tossed it through the window at her and then drove off.
