Warren County Authorities Arrest Two on Drug Charges
A man from Abingdon and one from Monmouth are in trouble with the law after drugs and weapons were allegedly found in a vehicle they were in.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Edwards says the arrest happened around 1am Friday near Monmouth on 180th Avenue close to 100th Street, when deputies stopped a vehicle driven by 27-year old Jeremy Allen of Abingdon.

Edwards says a search of the vehicle allegedly turned up marijuana, drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine-making materials, and other meth-related items.

Allen and 49-year old Leslie Morrison face what was described as a variety of drug charges but Edwards didn't specify. He does say Allen also faces another charge for having a handgun in his possession.

Allen and Morrison are being held in the Warren County Jail. Edwards says the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team aided in the investigation, which he says is continuing.
