Quincy Teenager Sentenced for Bus Arson
QUINCY, Ill. (AP) -- A Quincy teenager will be spending 26 days in jail, followed by four years of probation for a fire that destroyed three school buses.

At his sentencing Friday, the judge also ordered 18 year old Zachary Wheeler to pay $150,000 in restitution for the February fire in the bus storage area at Quincy's Flinn Stadium.

The Quincy Herald Whig reports that Wheeler, who is a former Quincy High School student, pleaded guilty in October to arson.

Authorities say Wheeler and several other teenagers made fire bombs resembling Molotov cocktails from bottles and rags and then used them to set the buses on fire. Police say Wheeler placed one of the bombs underneath a bus, an action which Adams County Assistant State's Attorney Josh Jones called "incredibly stupid and incredibly dangerous."
