IL Mom Says Man Stole Family Christmas Tree
PEKIN, Ill. (AP) -- A central Illinois mother is using the theft of the family Christmas tree to teach her children about right and wrong.

Angie Morrison tells the Pekin Daily Times that she and her daughters, ages 4 and 8, were driving their new tree home when it broke loose and tumbled off the roof of the car.

Morrison says she turned around to retrieve it, only to find a man loading it into the back of his truck.

She says screaming, yelling and even pleading had no effect. The man took the tree and drove off.

Morrison, a single mother, bought a second tree, using money she says could've gone for gifts.

But she says it's provided a good lesson for her daughters about why it's important not to steal.
